THE ANGEL'S KNOLL OFFICE PARK IS A 175,000 SQUARE FOOT COMMERCIAL SPACE, SITUATED ON A PLAZA IN DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES. THE BUILDING ACTS AS A RETAINING WALL, TAKING CARE OF THE 75 FOOT ELEVATION CHANGE ACROSS THE SITE. ON THE HIGH SIDE, A GREEN ROOF IS ACCESSIBLE AT THE STREET LEVEL. TO DRIVE NATURAL LIGHT INTO THE DEEPEST PART OF THE BULDING, LARGE SKYLIGHTS ARE CUT OUT OF THE GREENROOF, CREATING A CANYON-LIKE SHAFT OF LIGHT THROUGH THE STRUCTURE.
THE BUILDING USES NATIVE PLANTINGS TO RESTORE NATURAL HABITAT TO THE CITY, AND IMPLEMENTS WATER COLLECTION, RETENTION AND REUSE STRATEGIES TO MAINTAIN THE ONSITE HABITATS, AND MITIGATE EROSION ALONG THE SLOPE.
